Hunger Strike 2024 Rules & Conditions

Objective: The goal is to raise funds to support Harvest Against Hunger and each club’s chosen local community charity.

Overview:

  • Each club has a dedicated Hunger Strike event page, accessible at https://hungerstrike.events/wa.
  • Team Captains create and control fundraising teams.
  • Each team member has a personal fundraising page to collect donations from their networks.
  • Supporters can donate to either the team or individual fundraising pages.
  • Leaderboard: Real-time tracking of club, team, and individual performance.
  • Awards: Based on fundraising totals for individuals, teams, and clubs.
  • Prize Drawing:
    • Fundraisers raising over $150 will be entered.
    • For every additional $50 raised, participants earn extra entries for more chances to win.

Proceeds Distribution:

  • 50% of net proceeds will go to each club’s chosen nonprofit beneficiary.
  • Clubs must submit their chosen nonprofit by October 18, 2024.
  • If a club does not submit a beneficiary by the deadline, 100% of the funds raised will go to Harvest Against Hunger.

Competition Rules:

  1. Eligibility for Prize Drawings:

    • Participants must be a registered member of a Hunger Strike team to qualify for the prize drawings.
  2. Donations Credited to Individuals:

    • To count toward an individual’s fundraising total and prize eligibility, donations must be made through the individual’s personal fundraising page.
  3. Donations Credited to Teams:

    • Donations credited to a team for fundraising awards must be made through the team’s page or via one of the team member’s personal fundraising pages.
  4. Donation Processing:

    • Donations must be made through Hunger Strike’s online donation pages via credit card or ACH (bank account) to count toward the competition.
    • Cash donations can be collected and converted to a personal credit card donation at the discretion of the team member and supporter.
    • Checks cannot be processed and will not be counted towards the competition.
  5. Fundraising Period:

    • Fundraising is open from October 1, 2024 through midnight on November 11, 2024.
    • Donations made up until the deadline will be reflected in the final totals.
    • Fundraising includes both online and in-person events.
  6. Live Event Options:

    • Bowling at participating bowling alleys (organized by the Hunger Strike Committee).
    • In-person Jeopardy game at Dave & Busters.
    • Club-organized events (e.g., cornhole competitions).
  7. Live Coverage:

    • A special online Podcast will cover live events, track leaderboard progress, and feature special guests on November 11, 2024.
